15 years of tech infographic

We have come a long, long way since using floppy disks and having to actually remember people’s telephone numbers. Technology since the millennium has changed drastically and is only set to get even more sci-fi on us. Remember films like Blade Runner and The Matrix, well; we are living this now and it's only going to get more exciting!

We've taken a nostalgic look back over the last 15 years to highlight just how far we have come in such a short space of time. Talking of space has anyone booked a seat yet on the Virgin Galactic experience yet? http://www.virgingalactic.com/

Over the last 15 years you will see that Apple has played a significant part in our technological journey, with many inventions, some of which proved to be a fad (remember the iPod touch) and others a serious trend.

We take a look at things like Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia (do you remember the last time you actually had to look something up in a book?), and the rise of GPS technology and how we now use this on a daily basis. Not only do we find our way around, but we also connect with our customers using location-based marketing such as Bluetooth, iBeacons and Wi-Fi.

What did we do before the gargantuan rise of social media, starting in 2003 with business-focused networks such as LinkedIn? How did we ever cope with actually meeting a new face for the first time before they existed?

Not far behind we have the other huge players such as Facebook which was created by college student Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, and the Twitter egg hatched in 2006 giving us the opportunity to connect with our friends, peers and favorite celebs using short, sharp comments.

In the future, we will see the influence of technology accelerate our lives into even more weird and wonderful spheres.

We are on the cusp of virtual reality becoming commonplace, in the not too distant future we will see driverless cars zooming around our streets. And who remembers the hover-board from Back to the Future? Soon this will all be an everyday occurrence and we won’t even bat an eyelid.

We hope that you enjoy our 15 years of technology infographic, please feel free to share our vision of this millennium so far.
